Bsnl broadband forum

December 27th, 2007

Bsnl broadband forum has been helping all the bsnl broadband customers in trouble shooting their bsnl broadband connection problems as according to members on the forum bsnl broadband’s customer service is not very responsive being a government run body, I dont expect much from bsnl staff any way.

Airtel broadband is one isp which has been praised by forum members time and again and problems which people face are normally faults in their own computers or something they had done themselves.

Reliance data card

December 2nd, 2007

Reliance data card : I bought this reliance data card a week and a half ago and its been working very well. I have been using this reliance data card for more then 4 hours every day and havent even once got disconnected while working, been sending large e-mails with attachments whithout a hitch.

The reliance data card doesnt have any reception trouble either and nor does the software create any trouble. The only thing I dont like about it is the ariel which is too small and is not extendable, had it been extendable it would have been good for remote areas not that I have had a reception problem.

Price is pretty good as well and so is the quality. I would recomend reliance data card to any one looking for a reliabl wireless connection.

Airtel broadband

September 10th, 2007

I have been waiting for airtel broadband to be launched in my area for more then one year now and every time I call them they have the exact same answer that they will be launching anytime soon. I know that there are more then 300 connections in our locality and thats those people who use sify and hate sify to bits and there must be a lot more who use mtnl. Once airtel broadband and reliance is available in our area I am sure sify will have to close its shop here as I dont know even on person who is happy with the services that sify provides.

Sify prices are not too bad but the frequent disconnection problem sucks big time and their unresponsive customer service is as bad as it could get with hardly any good call cetre staff. Airtel on the otherhand employes better staff and they atleast know what they are doing.

Reliance broadband review

March 9th, 2007

As you all know I applied for a reliance broadband connection more then a month ago, actually its been two months now and Reliance broadband guys claimed they will get my connection up and running in 7 days but it didint happen till date.

Reliance broadband is supposed to have a very good customer service track record but now it all seems to be fake claims coz its just talks and talks no work atall.

You can follow up on the review (and thats if I manage to get a connection) at India broadband forum

Airtel broadband can be my life saver

January 23rd, 2007

The one time richest nation in the world and again on its way to become one is where I live these days and you might be surprised to know that even in the Capital of the nation Ned delhi we get power cuts every day and on an average there is no electricity for atleast 8-9 hours once in the morning from 8am through to noon and the second cut occurs at midnight sharp at 12:00am and that one stays for atleast 4 hours.

The only people I can blame is the government which has failed to provide the basic amenities even in the capital of this country called India.

The GDP growth in the last 6 months? Yes 8.5 to 9% and the forecast for 2007? Well 9.5 to 10%  and is one of the highest in the world in that respect but the comman man doesn’t get uninterrupted power supply for starters.

All the governments in the last 60 years have just tried their best to retain power in the next election and have kept themselves far away from projects which will take more then 5 years as they didn’t have a guarantee that when the project will be completed they would be in power or not and it shows up clearly in the power sector clearly.

Power sector has not been completely opened to the private sector and the government is just not doing enough if at all anything to over come the shortage of power.

Loads of unauthorised small factories run at New Delhi and none of the governments have had the balls to disturb their vote banks by shutting down those units to provide enough power to residential areas in delhi which suffer from frequent and long power cuts.

I have planned to built a new house with 100% self generated electricity and water and for that I am looking for a 5000 square yard plot some where in the NCR so I can build a small house with a huge solar power farm on the roof top along with solar water heaters and water harvesting. For water I plan a very deep submersible pump fitted with a small water purifier plant at a cost of Rs 700000 and that’s for water alone but then I am going to have a nice swimming pool in the face of the capital of India where people don’t get safe drinking water but hey I can only care for the country to an extent that it took care of me to start with.

You might be thinking what am I going to do with this 5000 square yards when a house built in 100 sq yards will be enough for me and my small family, well here is the deal.. I am going to have a small dairy farm which I will lease out to some one who would be willing to run it on a profit sharing basis and that will make my submersible water pump legal J and I will get sufficient amount of bio gas from the cow dun that dairy farm will provide and this dung will be used in the small bio gas plant to produce bio gas and that gas will be used to produce electricity when there is a problem with the solar cells or there is no sunlight or the back up for night is used up from the battries.

With all these things in place I will only need a few things from the outside world and hey are an internet connection, land line phone and cable tv.Out of these three there is nothing which cannot be provided wirelessly but the only problem which still remains is the internet connection which is going to be painfully slow if I got for the wireless option as one of the few providers is reliance which only gives speeds of I think 64kbps which is not good enough and the other option is just use the mobile phone or a data card which I already do and speeds are again as bad as they can possibly get.But I will possibly get airtel guys to set up a wireless terminal at my place  and at present they have speeds of upto 512kbps which is enough for me as I hardly ever download anything from the net.

Thanks to tata sky and dish network I wont have to be at the mercy of the cable operator for my television channels so the only thing which remains with a wire is the land line connection and that too will be from airtel which comes as a part and parcel of the net connection.

I will be thankful to God if everything works out ok in the next 6 months and the construction takes off well and finishes in time. In total there is an expanse of Rs 3500000 on top of the land for which I am not willing to spend more then Rs 7000000 so a total of  Rs 10500000  which is a massive amount compared to what an average joe would spend buying a house in Delhi but with that price comes a lifestyle which is far from imagination in Newdelhi at its present state. Some people I know say that this is a bad investment and on the other hand I have shown this proposal to a few people who think it’s the best investment one can ever do in Newdelhi and a lot of people will be up for buying this self sustained unit once its ready. One last note: There will be no smell from the dairy farm as there is a chemical (biodegradable) which is used to slow down the release of gases into air.The dairy farm is going to be half a kilometre away from the property anyway so no chance of sleepless nights due to the smell from the farm and if by anychance it creates a problem I will switch the biogas idea with LPG which is supplied in cylinders of 35kg each and can last up to a few days if I run an electricity generator but that defeats the green idea which inspired me in the first place so that will be the last option.

If you are planning to do something similar I can provide you with some helpful information as I have been researching for the last 2 years now. feel free to leave your comments..

Bsnl broadband in Punjab

December 7th, 2006

I was in Punjab for a few days and had first hand experience of bsnl broadband, or shall we say bsnl narrowband ? I went to atleast 3 peoples houses to see if thiers worked any better but they are all the same. Firstly they are lucky to get connected and if and when they do the speed is just crap plain crap and for google.com home page it takes atleast 5-10 seconds to load that small page and no doubt the problem is at bsnl’s end coz google has got huge server farms here in India.

Leave the broadband from bsnl apart because bsnl broadband doesnt really exist in Punjab coz I wont call those connection broadband as they are no better then a good dial up connetion. Now shall we listen to my dataone dial up story? Yea.. lets do it then… I was fed up with bsnl by that time and I just for checking sake dialed thier dial up number so I can atleast check my mails if nothign else but to be honest with you after trying for one hour I just gave up on bsnl, both dialup and broadband.

Still the same line…   Airtel broadband rocks…

Sify broadband review

December 7th, 2006

I have been using sify broadband service for the last eight months now and I have tried everything to get airtel broadband connection but the problem is that airtel dont have thier services in my area so its still waiting time for me.

I used to have sify broadband’s 64kbps connection which used to give me good speeds when it worked but I cant remember a day when sify broadand didint go down and I had constant connectivity.Call Sify broadband and they refer you to the great Indian cable wala who inturn says sify end is causing problems and its not the cable guys problem so they just keep passing the buck on each other which is the most annoying thing on earth.

I got Sify broadband’s 256kbps connection yesterday and the connection has been fine since yesterday probbably just pot luck for me today.Speed isint bad either,I tried downloading a few files and some times got a constant 30-32kB/sec which is not bad atall but that was at 2am in the night and in day time I tested the connection 3-4 times and the speed wont touch the 20kB/sec mark but then what else do you expect from sify broadband.

I wont say I dont have anything personal with sify coz I surely do,If I was the telcom minister of India I would do my best to get sify broadband’s isp license cancelled.

Looking for a new broadband connection?  Go for Airtel broadband coz I have it at my other house and its the best I have ever seen in India.
Airtel broadband all the way…

India broadband

December 7th, 2006

India is going through a phase of major changes as far as internet penetration is concerned and a lot of isp’s are in the race but as far as I have seen all of them are far behind airtel broadband when it comes to quality of service and customer service.

Bsnl broadband has the largest market share and in my opinion is not able o cope with the number of customer it has got and the major problem being the sarkari nature of bsnl broadband which leaves it far behind Airtel broadband.

Airtel broadband is provided via adsl technology and thier internet packages are by far the best in the market and they deliver what they say they will and not trap customers like sify broadband does.

Looking for an isp with excelent up time? look no furthur just go for Airtel broadband.

PS: I am not getting paid to praise airtel broadband and nor is this blog associated with airtel broadband in any way and nor do they control the content here.I just writ what I experience and will try to deliver correct information to my vistors.
